The Bulletin of National Defence University of Ukraine

The Bulletin of the National Defence University of Ukraine  is a scientific peer-reviewed journal that publishes manuscripts of Ukrainian and foreign scholars in the field of psychology.

The journal's aim is to disseminate the results of scientific research across a broad audience of researchers and practitioners in the field of psychology. It covers various branches of psychology, presenting both scientific-theoretical and practical materials on relevant general and specialised psychological issues.

The journal’s publication scope covers research in the field of military psychology, psychological support for national security and defence, as well as related areas of applied psychology associated with activities under conditions of war, crisis situations, and heightened risk.

Priority areas include:

  • prospects for the development of military psychology and current trends in its formation;
  • psychological support for the activities of the security and defence sector;
  • problems of countering information and psychological influence, disinformation, and other forms of psychological impact under wartime conditions;
  • experimental and applied research on the psychological readiness of military personnel and employees of the security and defence sector to perform professional and combat tasks;
  • theoretical and practical aspects of overcoming combat stress, combat-related psychological trauma, and post-traumatic conditions among military personnel, veterans, and participants in hostilities;
  • psychological assistance, rehabilitation, and support for persons affected by military conflicts, armed aggression, occupation, captivity, forced displacement, and other crisis events;
  • psychological factors of professional resilience, adaptation, leadership, team interaction, and decision-making in military and security structures;
  • methodological, theoretical, and applied foundations for the study of psychological phenomena related to the state’s defence capability, security-related behaviour, crisis communication, and the psychological resilience of society;
  • psychological aspects of the training, education, professional development, and support of specialists whose activities are related to defence, national security, civil protection, and work in extreme conditions.

A special place within the journal’s scope is given to research aimed at developing the system of psychological support for activities in the field of national security and defence, strengthening the psychological resilience of individuals, military units, and society under contemporary military, informational, and security challenges.

The Journal welcomes manuscripts that:

  • report on research findings of international significance for various fields of psychology;
  • present innovative approaches and materials (both empirical and theoretical) that contribute to the development of science and generate new knowledge;
  • demonstrate the interdisciplinary nature of research that combines psychological theory with practice and related fields of knowledge.
