The article examines the influence of motivation on the effectiveness of self-presentation of future psychologists. The scientific works of scholars on the study of personality self-presentation are analyzed. The results of an empirical study of motivation for success and avoidance of failure among future psychologists are described. It was found that the strongest correlation exists between the level of effectiveness of self-presentation and motivation for success. The correlation between the level of effectiveness of self-presentation and the motivation to avoid failure is practically absent
