The article analyzes the experience of NATO member countries in the field of professional and psychological selection of contract servicemen. Conclusions are drawn regarding the problems that countries periodically face in this area and possible ways to address them. Additionally, the article highlights the prospects for adopting foreign experience in the Ukrainian context
