The article analyzes the main regularities of the mental development of a junior high school student's personality. The results of an empirical study of the personality development of a junior high school student are reflected. Diagnosis of productivity and stability of attention, mental development, motivation to learn, creativity and level of anxiety of younger schoolchildren was carried out
