The article presents the results of an empirical study, which aimed to single out two main types of personal choice – active and reactive (based on the subjective parameter –, the grounds for arguing one's own choice), as well as the main individual and psychological features of subjects characterized by different types of choice. It is noted that subjects who demonstrate different types of personal choice differ in such individual and psychological prerequisites as vitality, tolerance to uncertainty, awareness of life, parameters of subjective quality of choice, type of causal orientation, attitude to the personal future, duration of a temporary perspective, peculiarities of self-organization activities and self-efficacy
