The article presents the results of distinguishing types of personal choice according to subjective and objective parameters and studying the individual and psychological characteristics of subjects demonstrating different types of personal choice. When considering subjective and objective parameters at the same time, three types of personal choice can be distinguished: reactive choice, active choice of immutability, and active choice of obscurity. The possibility of choosing one or another species is ensured by the presence of individual psychological prerequisites, which are a number of dispositions, the different level of expressiveness of which creates more or less favorable conditions for choosing a different species. Different types of personal choice reflect different ways of understanding, argumentation, preparation, as well as different mechanisms of its implementation
