The article examines the process of destructive influence on the collective intelligence of citizens of the Russian Federation of actualized existing (ethnic, historical, social) and new stereotypes about Ukraine and Ukrainians from the declaration of Ukraine's independence to the beginning of the Revolution of Dignity. On a systematic basis, Russia used these stereotypes to form a negative attitude towards Ukraine and Ukrainians among Russians, which became the basis for the further formation of the “image of the enemy ⁇  from Ukraine and its saturation with exclusively negative characteristics. The authors came to the conclusion that destructive stereotypes about Ukraine and Ukrainians do not reflect reality, but systematize and simplify its perception. However, such saving of intellectual resources negatively affects collective intelligence and leads to its degradation. In addition, systematic stereotypical thinking leads to negative consequences in the physical dimension, namely: contemptuous treatment, discrimination, ill-treatment and even open military aggression aimed at destroying the people against whom destructive stereotypes were formed
