The article presents a variant of psychological and pedagogical support for the formation of professional plans of high school students through the implementation of a career guidance course, which contained such methods and forms of work as psychodiagnosis of personal properties of high school students, lectures, discussions, conversations, problematic and creative tasks, plot-role and simulation-business games, as well as professional excursions. The proposed course consisted of three sections, which were gradually aimed at deepening schoolchildren's knowledge of their own personal qualities, values and motives; expanding knowledge about the diversity of professions and the specifics of requirements for specialists; teaching the skills of independent search for the necessary information about a certain profession and ways to obtain the appropriate education
