The self-concept of the personality of the average citizen is manifested in his subjectively significant knowledge, meanings, ideas about himself in politics, since in the process of understanding political reality, information about the object of knowledge personally separated by the áctor is subject to awareness. The purpose of the article is to analyze the cognitive component of the self-concept of a citizen's personality as a determinant of its transformation. It has been established that the cognitive component of the self-concept of the individual is the process and result of the production of new knowledge about himself. The production of personal conditioned and/or operational knowledge can be considered one of the mechanisms of transformation of the self-concept of the actor's personality in terms of his self-awareness, self-understanding, self-realization
