The article is devoted to the study of psychological barriers in the process of learning English by VVNZ cadets. The article analyzes approaches to understanding the concepts of «psychological barrier». The analyzed indicators of the respondents made it possible to identify two categories of psychological barriers that cadets in Ukraine most often face. These are – psychological (psychological-emotional exhaustion of the cadet, psychological pressure, absent-minded concentration of attention, fear, adaptation problems, despair, different level of motivation (depending on the course), unsuccessful previous experience of learning the language in courses or with a tutor); linguistic (low vocabulary, ignorance of the grammatical structure of a foreign language, difficulty listening. It was also established that psychological barriers are such factors as: low level of self-training, more stressful situations for all participants in the educational process, higher level of interest in special military subjects, inability to attend additional language courses due to their high cost or daily routine. We see our further research in the study of psychological barriers in each course separately and more deeply, the development of an algorithm of teacher actions in the event of repeated or new barriers, the development of special measures that are focused on increasing the motivational component of cadet training
