The article, based on the results of a theoretical analysis, established that individual perception of life situations and self-control determine the development of both its positive and negative components. Successful resolution of crisis situations – is progress in the development of personality, opportunities for personal growth; incomplete or unsatisfactory resolution of a crisis – is a threat to its harmonious functioning, further development of negative mental states
