Based on the generalization of practical experience, the article reveals the specific features of providing emergency psychological assistance to victims of a missile attack on the Amstor«shopping center in the city of Kremenchuk. The forces and means involved in the elimination of the terrorist attack are described, the stages of providing emergency psychological assistance to the victims by psychologists of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine are characterized, which include: the organizational stage, the stage of creating an atmosphere of trust, the diagnostic stage, the therapeutic and recommendation stages. Based on the analysis of the psychological characteristics of the victims, the main methods of mental response of the victims to a terrorist act, covering violations in the affective, cognitive and behavioral spheres, are singled out. Scientific research also considered the most appropriate methods of psychological diagnosis of victims in extreme conditions of an emergency situation, the principles of psychological sorting and the provision of psychological assistance. Among the most effective methods of psychological interventions, the authors singled out the following: individual debriefing, breathing and communication techniques, desensitization of feelings with the help of images. The analysis of factors that complicated the process of providing psychological assistance to victims on the basis of the city hospital deserves attention: a significant number of people and the everyday disorder of places for their stay; inducing the victims and their relatives to each other their emotions; the presence of a large number of mass media workers
