The article presents a theoretical analysis of the concept of «vitality», an overview of modern empirical foreign and domestic studies of vitality. Life resistance was empirically investigated using the full version of the life resistance test C. Muddy and a short version of the sustainability test (VO. Olefir, M.A. Kuznetsov, A.V. Pavlova). Peculiarities of vitality and its parameters among students of the military department are considered
