The article substantiates the need to ensure the appropriate conditions for the formation of the professional and psychological suitability of military personnel to perform assigned tasks in modern conditions of warfare in the direction of strategic readiness for combat operations. The dynamics of professional changes, their evolutionary forms, psychological mechanisms and other determinants of military suitability on the way to professional development significantly affect the quality characteristics of all personnel of military units, which, in turn, determines the level of their strategic readiness to perform combat tasks as intended in wartime conditions
