Gender equality in the Armed Forces of Ukraine – is equal legal status, equal opportunities, equal duties and equal responsibility of military personnel of both sexes (men and women) during military service. By accepting commitments at the national and international levels, Ukraine had identified gender equality as one of the priorities of State policy to ensure the country's development and reaffirmed that it must guarantee equal rights and opportunities for women and men to participate in all spheres of society, including in the defence sphere. The central concept of gender policy of the North Atlantic Alliance is the definition of “gender integration”, which means a strategy for achieving equal rights and opportunities for women and men at all levels in the Armed Forces of Ukraine by professionally performing tasks as intended, taking into account their experience and interests, which will contribute to the achievement of Euro-Atlantic standards and criteria in the military sphere, compliance with which is necessary for Ukraine to become a member of NATO. Based on the results of the conducted research, we will formulate recommendations for further integration of the principles of gender equality into the Armed Forces of Ukraine
