This article offers an overview of the current state of organ donation and transplantation in Ukraine through the analysis of relevant provisions of domestic legislation and information on the organization and conduct of transplant procedures in the state. Particular attention is paid to the impact of COVID-19 and full-scale war on the development of this medical industry. It was found that despite all the challenges, the national transplant system is actively developing, because positive dynamics in the number of transplants for the period from 2019 to 2024 were monitored. Further support of the field of donation and transplantology is necessary through interdisciplinary cooperation of specialists for the successful implementation of relevant programs; the main problems and prospects for the development of this field to save human lives are also identified
