The article highlights the important issues of today – understanding the psychological characteristics of children with ASD to support their development and social adaptation. A brief historical description of studies of children with ASD, the main reasons for the risk of developing this disease, features of diagnosis and main symptomatic manifestations was carried out. The activation of state policy in highlighting this problem in society, assistance in expanding the availability of education and development of the autism spectrum for children is shown
