The article highlights the results of a theoretical study of the socio-psychological consequences of the influence of combat stressors on combatants, in particular social stress disorder, which manifests itself in the cognitive, behavioral and emotional post-traumatic reactions of military personnel. The symptoms of socio-psychological maladaptation – as a complex socio-psychological phenomenon that leads to a violation of the adaptation of the psyche and behavior of a serviceman to the conditions of the social environment, which is mediated by the leading activity of a person at the current stage of his development, are considered. The following main manifestations are presented: rejection of the personality by the group, socio-psychological isolation and the related psychological state of frustration and depression, inadequacy of communication skills and behavioral disorganization, internal stiffness and emphasized alienation. Brief results and analysis of the pilot empirical study are given. The main socio-psychological components of a serviceman's personality affected by combat stress are determined
