The article is devoted to the analysis of assertiveness as a person's ability not to depend on external influences and assessments, to independently regulate his own behavior and be responsible for it. It is emphasized that an assertive person is characterized by a high level of motivation to achieve success, has a stable need to achieve high results in any business, in the desire to do work quickly, qualitatively and at a high level. These qualities in the individual have a generalized character and are manifested in any situation, regardless of the nature of its content. The direction of assertiveness is determined by a person's value orientations.
