The article examines the results of the study of psychological preparation of psychology students for personal risk situations with the help of specially organized training using virtual reality. As it turned out, there is a relationship between motivation to act in extreme conditions and personal resources: a direct relationship with the resource «achievement» and the reverse - with the level of risk. The developed VR training actualizes these resources. The improvement of achievements is ensured by the fact that respondents successfully perform tasks in extreme situations simulated in BP. Risk reduction is ensured by adaptation in the training process to extreme situations. After the training, the level of depression in the subjects of the experimental group significantly decreased and the motivational and emotional components of readiness to act in an extreme situation increased. To increase motivation to operate in an extreme environment, it is necessary to increase the resource «achievements», and for the resource «risk», it is necessary to change it to a conscious attitude to the situation. Virtual reality technologies have proven their effectiveness for increasing personal resources and preparing psychology students for activities in extreme conditions
