У статті подано огляд актуальних напрямів емпіричних досліджень феномена емоційного вигорання за останні п`ять років, представлених у каталозі ScienceDirect. У результаті аналізу визначено три актуальні напрямки досліджень феномена. Перший із них пов'язаний із роллю емоційного інтелекту у виникненні вигорання. У межах другого напрямку досліджується роль емоційної праці у виникненні вигорання. Третій напрямок пов'язаний із соціальною ідентичністю людини
