The article examines individual characteristics that ensure the success of professional activity in extreme conditions. The conceptualization of the variable “ability to recognize the meaning and logic of a situation” allows for substantiating the necessary diagnostic procedure and obtaining data on the cadet’s internal psychological resources. The presented results make it possible to identify certain interrelationships between the content of conceptual and operational variables in the study of this ability. The specifics of the model of cadet readiness for self-subject actions are revealed
