The article is devoted to identifying creative abilities in senior preschoolers as a component of the creative potential of the individual. The empirical study showed that most children demonstrated reproductive imagination, weak ability to experiment, limited supra-situational transformative actions, and poorly expressed thinking processes, which highlights the need for psychological support of the developmental function, particularly in fostering creative abilities
