The article examines important psychological and pedagogical factors in the implementation of a competence-based approach to training psychologists through an analysis of scientific literature. The psychological mechanisms for optimizing the educational process of future psychologists are identified. It is indicated that the development of the reflective, motivational, and cognitive spheres of a psychologist's personality through the use of interactive teaching methods contributes to the formation of professional competence. Examples of problem-solving tasks used in the process of studying practice-oriented disciplines are provided
