The article is devoted to the problem of the impact of deprivation on the psyche and personality of servicemen who perform tasks in isolation from the main forces and in conditions of captivity. The peculiarities of the influence of mental, sensory, cognitive, emotional, sleep deprivation, family, existential deprivation are clarified. External and internal deprivation factors that have a negative impact on a serviceman in extreme operating conditions have been determined. External factors include isolation, lack of proper social and living conditions, uncertainty and danger, transience of changes in the combat situation, time-equivalent restrictions, high degree of risk, novelty of the combat situation, mistrust in the line of subordination from top – down and bottom – up. Among the internal deprivation factors, a high level of ambivalence and doubt, pronounced anancastic properties, a tendency to suggestion, a high level of anxiety and a low level of stress resistance, the inability to see the picture as a whole, the lack of previous experience of hostilities or negative previous experience, a low level of critical and creative thinking are highlighted.
