The article is devoted to an overview of classical and modern theoretical and methodological sources on the problem of mental and combat mental trauma. The article presents the results of the analysis of the prerequisites for the occurrence and features of the development of combat mental trauma in military personnel in the conditions of hostilities. The concept of complex combat mental trauma and its impact on the functioning of servicemen in battle, as well as the further consequences of traumatization, are revealed. Various therapeutic approaches to working with psychotraumatized servicemen are proposed
