The article reveals the signs, mechanisms and technologies of forming a positive image of a specialist. In particular, it is noted that the professional image is considered as a complex interdisciplinary phenomenon that involves the creation of an image of a specific profession, develops in the process of a certain professional activity and is a factor in increasing its effectiveness. This is an image of an individual that deserves public approval, useful and essential, one that has the necessary qualities. The main qualitative characteristics of a specialist's positive image are: professionalism, leadership, purposefulness, systematic thinking, ability to argue, tact, creative approach, empathy, tolerance, oratorical abilities, principledness, determination; bright pleasant appearance, pleasant manners of communication
