The article reveals the peculiarities of the development of communicative abilities of professional psychologists. In particular, it is noted that the communicative abilities of a psychologist are a complex psychological formation that has general features that determine success in any type of his activity, be it teaching or psychological assistance of an individual, as well as specific features that lead to success in solving various professional tasks within the limits of his interaction with other people when transmitting information to them, exerting managerial and other influence on them, etc
