The article carries out a theoretical and empirical analysis of emotional intelligence as a means of developing personality resilience. The main approaches to defining the concept of «resistance» by foreign and domestic researchers are presented. The understanding of emotional intelligence as a psychological phenomenon has been clarified. The characteristics of the individual are considered, which will help him to be resistant to the main stress factors of professional activity. The research materials on determining the level of resilience and emotional intelligence of teachers and psychology students are presented, and the obtained results are analyzed
