The motivational component of the life competence of medical industry volunteers was empirically investigated. It was determined that they differ from other volunteers by reduced care for their own comfort and safety and a lower need for communication and creative activity. It was established that the determined motives, on the one hand, determine the choice of the direction of volunteering, on the other hand, – exhaust the psychological resource of the individual. A solution to the specified conflict is proposed.
