The article describes the peculiarities of the application of psychological and psychophysiological methods of examination of representatives of extreme professions in the interests of their professional and psychological selection. At the same time, it is noted that effective psychological selection must be complex in nature, comply with the principles of differentiation (that is, each technique must be aimed at evaluating a certain mental function) and dynamism, and the techniques that make it up must meet the requirements of reliability and predictability
