The article analyzes international experience in providing psychological assistance to police officers after exposure to extreme situations. The content of the concept of “psychological assistance” is revealed, and its main ethical principles are identified. Basic factors determining the specifics of providing psychological assistance to police officers in several foreign countries are highlighted. The focus is on the experience of providing psychological assistance to police officers in developed countries, including detailed descriptions of ACCESS EAP, CIT (USA), POS (Canada), and trauma prevention methods (UK). Attention is drawn to the need to supplement domestic developments in this field and to develop practical recommendations for their application within the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine
