This scientific study is devoted to pedagogical problems of teaching general psychology at a medical college. It considers the tasks, purpose, and, most importantly, the peculiarities of teaching general psychology at a medical college. It is determined that teaching general psychology should not be reduced to communicating scientific knowledge in ready-made formulations for passive perception and immediate memorization by students, but should present educational tasks that students must learn to solve. It is concluded that the effectiveness of the methodology for teaching general psychology depends, first of all, on the teacher's clear awareness of the teaching goal and the subordination of the entire set of methodological techniques to it
