The article is devoted to the analysis of domestic and foreign scientific sources on the problem of personnel security. The main approaches to defining the essence of the concept of “personnel security,” its content, structure, functions, and tasks are considered. The scientific perspective on ensuring personnel security, existing risks and threats to the organization, and factors contributing to internal and external threats to personnel security are highlighted. Special attention is given to the analysis of studies within the system of public administration and law enforcement structures
