In the article, the authors present the results of an empirical study of the structural elements of the mechanisms of mental regulation of the subject of educational activity. The data of the correlation analysis convincingly demonstrate the influence of motivational components on success, the influence of components of the sphere of abilities on success both independently of each other and in relationship. This clearly confirms the inclusion of individual components of the sphere of abilities and the motivational sphere in the structure of psychological regulation of the subject's educational activity
