The article presents the results of a theoretical and empirical study of the concept of self-esteem and motivation of students receiving psychological education. The structure and types of self-esteem, as well as factors affecting the formation of self-esteem, are analyzed. The scientific value of personal characteristics in the profession of future psychologists is determined. The relevance of the influence of self-esteem on the motivational readiness of students for professional activity is substantiated. Peculiarities of professional self-esteem of future psychologists are outlined
